Here are a few photos from today's bike sharing demonstration event which took place in front of Metro HQs at Union Station. I got to test ride a few of the bikes, and to my surprise they handled extremely well with turning for being pretty large. Pedaling also felt almost effortless on all the bikes. I wonder if this is how those multi-thousand dollar Dutch commuter bikes feel.

Metro is looking to take a leading role in bringing a bike sharing system to LA. If the board approves of the Los Angeles County Bike Share Strategy later this month, LA could see the launch of a pilot program in Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Santa Monica sometime this year.
