Take a look below at the TAP implementation timeline from Metro which was included in a comprehensive report that was filed at the Operations and Executive Management Committees' September meeting.

There are some interesting things to be noted:

• Limited use smart cards have already been tested and acquired by Metro for potential short term special event usage.
• Distance based fares for Metro could be a possibility in 2013. Mobile light validators are to roll out by 2013 to accommodate non-TAP agencies, and also facilitate rear door boardings and distance based fares.
• Solving the Metrolink to Metro transfer issue is still under discussion.
• EZ Transit pass stickers on TAP cards to be used for non-TAP agencies to verify fare.
